1. Excessive use of sugar:

Consuming excessive sugar through fizzy drinks, sweets, sugary foods as well as beverages like tea and coffee can be harmful for your skin. Excess sugar in your bloodstream can cause glycation, a natural chemical reaction which happens when sugar levels in the bloodstream spike beyond what our insulin can handle. This can trigger faster aging. Also, excess sugar can aggravate skin conditions such as acne and eczema.

2. Excessive use of salt:

Consuming too much sodium can be harmful for your body, especially skin. Excessive salt causes dry and cracked skin, leading to a dull and lackluster appearance. Further, acne breakouts start happening on the face and other body parts. It can promote adverse skin reactions like dehydrated skin, premature aging, and sometimes oily skin.  Though salt is a vital ingredient of the kitchen, it can further exacerbate the situation of bloating and hypertension. Hence, keeping the quantity of salt intake in check is a must.

3. Excessive use of caffeine:

Caffeine intake causes dehydration in the body. When we consume excessive amounts of caffeine, it causes our skin to dry out and makes our skin look dull and aged. It leads to a toxic build up in the body, thereby affecting our skin. A study reveals that drinking too much coffee can cause your skin to wrinkle prematurely and become lax with time.
