Belly fat reducing exercise to help you achieve a flat tummy

While there is a never-ending list of fad diets and excruciating workouts everywhere, they ain’t for the fitness noobs. Looking at fitness vlogs and reading health articles may help, but we got to start with baby steps, right?

Well, we agree on having a gentle approach towards your fitness goals initially. To begin with, your tummy is the region where the fat likes to feel at home. And, that potbelly doesn’t just weigh down your OOTD (outfit of the day, duh), but also brings you pesky health troubles.

We hate to break it to you that spot treating the extra accumulated fat isn’t possible. However, we have a core-focused exercise that will torch your belly fat faster. If you dream about getting a toned and taut tummy, let’s begin!

Yoga expert and fitness trainer Juhi Kapoor, who has the ‘yogini world’ as her Instagram moniker, revealed another fitness card from her deck. Well, she shared a video of herself doing the hollow tuck extensions. Kapoor demonstrates the exercise that can give you a chiseled core overtime.

Calling them one of the simplest yet effective exercises for toning the belly, she captioned the video, “This exercise is helpful in diastasis recti and post delivery abdominal fat. It will strengthen the core and boost stamina as well!”

Here’s a step by step guide to the exercise to burn belly fat:

  1. Lay down on a yoga mat
  2. Tuck your knees into your chest.
  3. Extend your legs out at 30 to 45 degrees.
  4. Keep your palms on the floor besides your body
  5. Do 30 repetitions of the same.
  6. Always do this exercise on an empty stomach.

Listing the accompaniments of this workout, Kapoor wrote, “While losing belly fat has a lot to do with losing overall body weight, eating the right kind of food and following healthy lifestyle practices is important. However, the right kind of belly exercises can help you to strengthen the muscles around your core area and help you to cut out the fat from that region.”

Further, she wrote, “Never deny the importance of portion control, balanced meals and a full-fledged strength training workout in your daily routine. As a part of your strength training drills, do make sure to include at least 30-50 of these extensions.”

Along with the workout,  listed below are words of caution to not overlook before getting into it.

Here are the circumstances when you should avoid doing the hollow tuck extensions for belly fat reduction

  1. Avoid it when you’re on your period.
  2. Don’t do it while pregnant.
  3. Not advised in case you had any surgeries or abdominal injuries.
  4. High BP and cardiac patients need to practice with caution.
  5. In case of a C-section delivery, practice only after 6 months or upon doctor’s go- ahead.

Remember, fat loss is always an overall phenomenon and whether you will exactly lose or gain weight on your body is a genetic pattern. So, do not fret if this fails to work for you!
