Inspiring weight loss stories of celebrities

Health, according to the World Health Organization, is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity”.[1] A variety of definitions have been used for different purposes over time. Health can be promoted by encouraging healthful activities, such as regular physical exercise and adequate sleep,[2] and by reducing or avoiding unhealthful activities or situations, such as smoking or excessive stress. Some factors affecting health are due to individual choices, such as whether to engage in a high-risk behavior, while others are due to structural causes, such as whether the society is arranged in a way that makes it easier or harder for people to get necessary healthcare services. Still other factors are beyond both individual and group choices, such as genetic disorders.

Some of the Instagram stories she had shared in the past had her sweating it out in the gym!

2. Sameera Reddy

Don’t we all love actor and mommy blogger Sameera Reddy’s Instagram posts? She has always been candid about her life, and revealed true parts of herself, which have made her a favourite with her audience. Earlier this month, she spoke about how she has moved from 92 to 81 kgs this year! Plus, it’s clear that yoga is her secret weapon. Reddy also revealed that she is only a few steps away from her ideal weight, which is 75 kgs.

3. Lizelle Remo D’Souza

Choreographer Remo D’Souza‘s wife Lizelle D’Souza’s weight loss transformation has been the talk of the town. She lost a whopping 40 kilos in a span of two years. Yes, she went from 105 kgs to 65 kgs by cutting off carbs and sugar. After that, she went on to intermittent fasting, beginning with a 14 hour fasting time, and increasing the duration to 18-20 hours.

In an earlier interview with Health Shots, she had shared, “I was eating self-prepared food at my place. That is what works. It wasn’t that I was eating expensive food and that’s why the keto or intermittent fasting worked. No… it was basic walking and basic food.”

4. Bharti Singh

Comedy queen Bharti Singh has always impressed her fans with her sense of humour, but this time around, it is her fitness transformation! She reduced 15 kilos before she announced the news of her pregnancy. Research says that it is important to be healthy and fit before you plan to conceive, and it seems that Singh has followed that to the T!

5. Masaba Gupta

Designer-actor Masaba Gupta who featured in the show Masaba Masaba, has been vocal about her struggles with polycystic ovary disease (PCOD). It is said that a nutritious diet and a regular workout regime are helpful, when it comes to containing the condition.

It was sometime this year that she revealed it all in an Instagram post: “ You have to make one thing about fitness non-negotiable in your life. It all starts there. My 7-9 am workout/walk/yoga is non-negotiable…also no ordering outside food on a weekday! Simple, ghar ka khaana. No celebration the night before, no amount of stress, and no phone call can distract me from this. This non-negotiable has helped me nearly cure PCOD, get off medication, focus better and enjoy time off with the food and drink that I love with friends and family on the weekend even more. I’m the lightest I’ve been in 10years today and want to prove to myself that a lot of hormonal issues us girls have sometimes can be tackled through fixing our nutrition and making physical activity your focus!.”
