Including an ample amount of vegetables, fruits and nuts are mandatory for an internally induced glow.

But if you’re somebody who puts off chores for later, this miracle glow-boosting juice may give you that envious radiant glow. Yash Vardhan Swami, Health Coach and Nutritionist, spoke to HealthShots about the ingredients in this juice and their benefits for your skin.

“Whenever we’re looking for health benefits from food, we should look into its ingredients. As we consume fresh fruits and vegetables, it starts reflecting on our skin. All the ingredients in this juice are rich in vitamin A and fiber,” Swami said.

All the ingredients of this ‘beauty elixir’ are readily available in your pantry. No preservatives, just 6 ingredients and takes 5 minutes to make. Let’s get to it.

Ingredients for the glow boosting juice:

  • ½ cup Boiled beetroot
  • ½ cup carrots
  • 1 pc Apple
  • ½ inch pc of Raw turmeric
  • 1 pc Amla
  • 1 cup Pomegranate


  1. Add carrots and boiled beetroot to the blender and give it a good churn for a minute.
  2. Once the hard vegetables are grounded, add deseeded Amla, apple, raw turmeric, tomato and pomegranate to the blender.
  3. Strain the juice if you feel like or you can enjoy it as it is for extra fibre content in the ingredients.
  4. Garnish with a mint leaf if you’re putting it’s picture up on snapchat!

Here’s what each ingredient of this juice does to your skin:

1. Beetroot

Rich in folate (vitamin B9), beets help your skin cells grow and multiplicate. Beetroot is also rich in vitamin C which can protect your skin from signs of aging and prevent premature wrinkles.  Beets are a rich source of belatins and betaine, which are considered as powerful antioxidants that prevent oxidative stress on cells.

“Beets are also rich in nitrates which can improve vasodilation which will help with more blood supply to the skin. Thus, helping with skin recovery from the damage”, says, Dr Yash Wardhan Swami.

2. Carrots

Beta carotene in carrots acts as a natural sunscreen for your skin.  Carotenoid rich diet is known to protect your skin from ultraviolet (UV) damage and improve the appearance of skin.

3. Apples

Apples are a storehouse of antioxidants which are known to prevent cell and tissue damage. Apples are known to boost collagen and elastin in your skin to make it appear more youthful and supple. Rich in vitamin A, B complex and C, apples accelerate skin cell rejuvenation and help get rid of pathogens and sebum production. 

4. Raw Turmeric

Rich in curcumin, raw turmeric is known to treat inflammation and decrease oxidation of cells. Turmeric can reverse acne scarring and may clear up acne breakouts too. Turmeric brings out the natural glow of your skin even when applied topically.

5. Amla

Amla has a remarkable impact on your skin since it is the richest source of vitamin C that remains stable even when exposed to air. Vitamin C slows down aging, protects you against harmful effects of free radicals. Amla also acts as an excellent blood purifier which can help keep acne at bay. It works effectively to treat fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, thus, giving you that flushed glow.

6. Pomegranate

Since 82 percent of pomegranate is water, it keeps you well hydrated. Pomegranates are a good source of antioxidants which can reverse the sun damage and oxidative stress caused to the skin. Pomegranate has ample vitamin C which can have antimicrobial effects on your skin.

What more can you do for glowing skin?

According to Swami, consuming this juice will flourish our body with a lot of vital nutrients, and “that’s why it can indirectly help the skin too”. 

“But one thing we need to realise is that it’s not just the ingredients in this juice but our whole lifestyle. Our daily routine, sleep pattern, workouts, and eating habits highly impact our skin. Including leafy greens, citrus fruits, protein, and nuts in your diet should be encouraged. The journey to better skin may be long, so remaining patient and consistent with your diet is the key.” says Swami. 

Dermatologist Vidushi Jain advocates the need for a properly balanced diet. Here’s what she suggests:

  • Brides must religiously hydrate their skin and drink plenty of water.
  • Put off using retinol and hyaluronic acid right before your big day. It may cause a reaction and may alleviate skin troubles like acne and breakouts.
  • If any such last-minute skincare changes are being made, they should be done under the guidance of a dermatologist.
  • You should avoid getting bleaches which you’ve never tried before. Since your skin is already dry during the winters, any facial treatment that involves bleach should be skipped.
  • Extra glow hydra facials are more suitable during the winter months.
  • Adopt smart skincare practices like wearing UV protection religiously before your big day.
  • It is also recommended to not go in for an elaborate skincare regime or a bridal skin treatment close to your wedding. It is recommended to get your bridal skin treatment 1-2 months prior to your events.
