    Sonakshi Sinha talks about taking care of overall health for a fit body

    Sonakshi Sinha, who has faced her share of body shaming, emphasizes that feeling healthy from within must be a crucial part of your fitness goals.

    Fitness is not just about your body, it’s also about your state of mind. And Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who lost around 30 kg before entering the film industry, completely agrees.

    In an interview for Bounce Back Bharat – The Ayurveda Project, a digital event organised by Fever FM and HealthShots, Sonakshi says, “What is the point of having a good body if you are not healthy from within?”

    Sonakshi urges people to be mentally and physically fit

    She emphasizes on the need for a healthy mind to accomplish a fit body.

    “You have to be able to perform all your bodily functions, have your stamina, have your strength and take care of yourself and people around you… I think this is what we call health in totality and which is what we should focus on,” added the Dabangg actress.

    Sonakshi has never shied away from acknowledging how she has been trolled for her weight and body type for years. Over time, she has learnt how to respond like a boss lady, giving a lesson or two to people in loving themselves the way they are.

    Weight loss is not easy – ask those who have been at it. But giving up is never going to be the solution. You have to be at it with consistency, persistence and discipline. Besides that, Sonakshi suggests that a trial and error method will help you fathom what really works for you.

    “I used to go to the gym, do weight lifting but never got a satisfactory outcome. Then I shifted to yoga, and then to cardio,” shares the actress, adding that even while she used to do cardio, she tried variations like spinning, dancing, and running on the treadmill. But it was all in vain.

    But what really worked for Sonakshi’s weight loss journey?

    Pilates! Pilates are a healthy and wholesome workout regime that not only benefits your physical body but also your mental health. Pilates has numerous benefits and a whole lot of Bollywood celebs swear by it.

    While the workout and gym routines were one thing, one fitness mantra that worked wonders for Sonakshi was her ‘never give up’ attitude. She tried every possible workout to fulfill her aim, and the results were satisfying to say the least.

    “I was very happy! When you see the results, you get motivated. And when something motivates you, you automatically get connected to that thing. Hence, you feel positive about it and achieve your desired results,” she adds.
